Joining Fees - A membership joining fee reflects administration costs associated with joining the Institute.
Property Inspectors - Advisory Note Individuals working in the property inspection field who are interested in gaining BOINZ membership are directed to the Accredited Building Surveyor Programme, as their only means of attaining membership to practice in property inspection with the Institute. The online membership application form will automatically select the membership class that best aligns with the qualifications, experience and current role you have provided. For more information, please contact BOINZ Membership Coordinator - membership@boinz.org.nz Once your application is received, it will undergo an internal check to ensure it is complete. During this review, we may contact you to request additional information or clarification about your qualifications, experience, or professional responsibilities. BOINZ can only submit applications to the Board under the membership class supported by the information provided. If we believe another membership class would be more appropriate, we will discuss this with you before progressing your application.
Membership Ownership BOINZ membership is personal to the individual member. While an employer may choose to pay your membership fees, the membership belongs to you and recognises your individual commitment to professionalism, ongoing learning, and the building surveying profession.
Administration • Your BOINZ membership will commence upon receipt of full payment and Board approval. • Membership fees are pro-rated based on the month of application through to 31 December. • If payment is not received within the applicable three-month grace period, the membership application or membership may lapse. • Membership will remain active until a written resignation is received by email at membership@boinz.org.nz. • All memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable once payment has been received. • Membership fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.
Application and Approval Process 1. Complete and submit your membership application. 2. We will check your application is complete. 3. You may be contacted if additional information is required. 4. Once payment has been received, your application will be submitted to the BOINZ Board for approval. 5. Membership commences following Board approval and receipt of full payment.
