We ran our last remuneration survey in 2023 and received a good level of support. 

In 2026, much has changed and the opportunity to refresh our sector's remuneration statistics will add value both to members and to the Institute.

Our 2026 survey involves responding to 25 questions, which should take no more than 10 minutes.

We appreciate your contribution and support.

The Government’s new granny flat rules, in force from 15 January 2026, have been promoted as a simple, low-cost way to add housing.

But for many property owners, the reality is far more complex.

While some consent requirements have been removed, the risk hasn’t disappeared – it’s shifted.

This online, self-paced course gives NZCB members a basic, practical understanding of how the Building Code shapes everyday construction work in New Zealand.
