Our Training
The Academy offers a wide range of facilitated courses, as well as online, self-paced courses.
These courses extend across a learning pathway – from Introduction and Foundation courses for those newer to the BCA environment, to Intermediate and Advanced courses for those looking to maintain/refresh or extend their skill set and competency.
- Introduction learning opens the doors to the basic framework and principles of building surveying. This includes the three-course online, self-paced Introduction to Building Surveying programme.
- Foundation Learning includes the Foundations of Building Surveying programme which is designed to take newer staff to Res 1 competency more quickly. The programme also provides those with a Regulation 18 qualification with the building controls context and prepares those without one for the demands of the Diploma in Building Surveying. The 12 courses making up the programme can also be done individually.
- Intermediate Learning provides comprehensive coverage of building code clauses and other building regulatory topics for those with some experience working in a BCA/TA and who are progressing their competency. Our Intermediate learning includes the Code Fit Team Talks series of two-hour facilitated presentations/discussions that run each month (February to November) on selected topics.
- Advanced Learning is designed for those more experienced in building surveying and controls who are looking to extend or broaden their skills and competency. It includes our annual Advanced Series of short workshops.
